Trinity United’s Imani Village: A Model for Sustainable Urban Renewal

Imani Village, spearheaded by Trinity United Church of Christ, aims to revitalize Chicago’s South Side Pullman neighborhood through a comprehensive development plan. This initiative includes affordable housing, senior housing, a health clinic, educational and community spaces, an organic garden, and a retail center. Funded through various grants and loans, the eco-friendly, LEED-certified project also focuses on workforce development and health equity. Programs like the Green Health Advocate Program offer local youth career training in health and conservation, contributing to the community’s long-term sustainability and well-being.
